Management Institute for National Development (MIND)
The Management Institute for National Development (MIND) is the main public sector training entity in Jamaica. MIND became an Executive Agency of Government on April 1, 1999, but was actually formed in 1994 by an amalgamation of five public sector training organizations which themselves had been established between 1975 and 1978.
The Institute specializes in public sector training, but its range of courses is also available to private sector participants. MIND’s learning products are delivered in programmed courses that are scheduled to run throughout the year , in a customised format called Your Place or MIND and via the internet through MIND Online , our web based training.
MIND’s main campus is at Hope Kingston and a center for Lifelong learning is in Mandeville Manchester.
Executive Agency of Government
As an Executive Agency of Government, MIND has been afforded significant autonomy and is mandated to operate its business along normal commercial principles. In practice, this means achieving the position of market-dealer in human resource training by identifying and satisfying customer needs, and delivering outstanding training and administrative services.
