UNICEF is on the ground in over 150 countries and territories to help protect and fulfill children’s rights. Working in partnership, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and HIV/AIDS. UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses, foundations and governments.
Through its Programme of Cooperation with the Government of Jamaica, UNICEF Jamaica provides technical expertise and financial and supply assistance to government agencies, NGOs, CSOs and other partners to build their capacity to care for children, to improve the quality and accessibility of essential services for children, to enact policies and laws designed to protect children’s rights, to advocate strongly with decision-makers, and to improve data collection, monitoring and evaluation of programmes serving children.
